Reader Review: 3 First-Rate Replica Watches from Scorpionwatch.com (Part 1)

Today we have a great review for Scorpionwatch.com submitted by one of our readers. Thanks to their June promotion, Gordon picked up a free watch when he purchased two Rolex models, and he’s thrilled with all three. But I don’t need to say anymore – his review of Scorpionwatch.com is very in-depth and detailed. Thanks Gordon!

“Hello my name is Gordon Patrick. Let me begin by saying how impressed I am with ScorpionWatch.com.. I have purchased other replica watches but this site is by far the best I have come across. I am not one who is easily impressed and I can say with conviction, they have impressed me.

Here is a picture of the watches in their respective boxes after I opened my shipment. My first impression. Nicely done. So far, so good.

Each watch came, band closed on it’s own individual pillow, covered in packing bubble wrap inside it’s own box. Why three watches? Well it’s quite simple. ScorpionWatch.com had a deal during the month of June, buy 3 and get 1 free. I couldn’t resist.

First up: the Omega Speedmaster Professional. Price $129.

I Love the watch for it’s history and iconic status in the world of classic timepieces but I have yet to wear it. Here’s why. I have a problem with the fact that on July 20th, 1969 Apollo 11 landed on the moon. The first watch to be worn on the Moon was the Omega Speedmaster. Shortly thereafter Omega added the inscriptions “Flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions” and “The first watch worn on the moon” to the case back of the Speedmaster Professional.

This is the back of my replica Omega Speedmaster:

The inscription: “Speedmaster Racing” and “Michael Schumacher”. Very disappointing.
However the watch is very well made and all but identical to the original in every other way. I will limit my review on this timepiece because I want to write extensively about the Rolex models I purchased.

Now, the Rolex Submariner. Price $155.00 USD

In the beginning I ordered this watch as a ‘last choice’ item. Meaning; I thought it would be a watch I wore infrequently given it’s mass appeal, albeit classic style (yet over copied looks) and its smaller size. Wow… was I wrong. I love this timepiece. ScorpionWatch.com is known for reproducing incredible Rolex replica watches and this watch may be the best at it’s relatively inexpensive price point.

The weight and dimensions are comparable to a Rolex.
The black dial and luminous hour markers and hands are spot on.
The lettering is impeccable.
The cyclops or date window/bubble magnifies the numbers very well (not sure if it’s a true 2.5 times but it’s very close).

It has a sapphire crystal with a small etched crown or ‘coronet’ (can’t confirm it’s laser etched) at the 6 position (it’s very small and tough to see) in the crystal. With a Japanese automatic kinetic movement with 21 jewels, the second hand doesn’t necessarily ‘sweep’ like an original, but it very smooth. I have not removed the bracelet (12 o’clock/top side) to see if there is a model number. Nor have I removed it on the bottom, 6 o’clock position to see a serial number.

On the rehaut (the band encircling the dial between the glass and black watch face) you’ll find two things. The word Rolex is engraved continuously on the rehaut and there should be a gap between the 5 and 7 o’clock positions. In that space you’ll see a serial number. My GMT has a number, the Submariner doesn’t.

The bezel is unidirectional and it’s coin edges are crisp and deep. I don’t know if it clicks 120 time as it rotates (a Rolex has 120 clicks), I never counted.”

(to be continued)
